Kapoose Creek, off the coast of Vancouver island, was part of a rare ice-free corridor during the last ice age. As a result, the land has a rich ecosystem and unique mycological biodiversity. Kapoose Creek Wellness is exploring the land hoping to discover the next generation of mycological medicines.

what might a mycology company at the intersection of cutting-edge research and human wellness look and feel like? how can we optimize the runway and resources of a series-b startup to produce the right array of mushroom-powered rx and otc therapies?

the ask

Boombang was brought in at the ground level to provide strategic support that helped KCW navigate the early stages of funding. We helped envision everything from the go-to-market product strategy to the corporate branding, product design, and fundraising materials.

my role

As the lead designer on the project, I guided the KCW team through multiple iterations of brand development, ultimately arriving at a full brand package complete with a website, pitch deck, brand book and product mockups. I also helped pen the copy throughout these materials.

a holistic wellness system

Our process involved envisioning the fullest, most comprehensive future for fungi-powered therapies before narrowing in on an initial product lineup. This lead us to developing clinic designs, patient health apps, an array of product formats with various functional formulations, and more. The end result? A long-term vision for the brand to fundraise and rally around.
